Charlize Theron dona un millón de dólares para frenar violencia de género

La actriz Charlize Theron donó un millón de dólares a través de su fundación The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project a diferentes organizaciones para luchar contra el coronavirus y la violencia de genero.

500 mil dólares serán destinados a refugios que luchan contra la violencia doméstica.

Así como programas que hacen lo propio pero con la violencia de genero, con la propuesta Together for Her, según informó la también modelo en redes sociales.

“A medida que la propagación global de covid-19 ha obligado a las personas a quedarse en casa, la vida se ha vuelto aún más peligrosa para las mujeres que sufren violencia doméstica, especialmente para aquellas que están más marginadas y tienen un mayor riesgo de sufrir violencia”, explicaba.

Theron, quien es poseedora de un Oscar, unirá esfuerzos con Estados Unidos y Sudáfrica -su país natal- mediante fondos adicionales en conjunto a la organización Care y la Entertainment Industry Foundation.
