Verlander y su esposa donarán su salario a ONG’s

El lanzador de Astros Justin Verlander y su esposa, la modelo Kate Upton, anunciaron que donarán su salario semanal a diversas organizaciones benéficas que están ayudando a personas afectadas por la pandemia del coronavirus.

“Obviamente, el mundo entero está viviendo un momento muy difícil”, dijo Verlander en el video.

“Hay muchas personas necesitadas, sea aquellos en la vanguardia batallando de frente contra esta enfermedad o alguien en casa que se ha quedado sin empleo y necesita proveer necesidades básicas, como comida y agua. Hemos decidido donar ese sueldo”, añadió.

Upton indicó que cada semana, la pareja elegirá a una organización “qué está haciendo buen trabajo ahora mismo” para que reciba la donación.

También dijo que destacaría la organización que elijan cada semana.

Recently the @mlb announced they will be continuing to send paychecks to players while the season is suspended. @kateupton and I have decided to donate those funds to a different organization each week so that we can support their efforts and highlight the great work they’re doing during the COVID-19 crisis. Everyone around the world is affected by this virus, and we hope to contribute to the families and jobs affected, the healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines and the many others in need of basic necessities, medical supplies and support at home. As soon as the first paycheck is received we will be highlighting the first organization.
